FAQs
Is there reception or WiFi?
All accommodation units have mobile reception and WiFi. There is 90% phone coverage throughout the track itself.
What food do I need to bring?
The walk is entirely self-catered, no food is provided so you will need to bring all your food - enough for two dinners, two breakfasts, a packed lunch and snacks throughout your walk. The water at your accommodation is drinkable and full cooking amenities are available.
What do I need to pack?
Tramping boots or sturdy walking shoes
Day pack
Warm & weatherproof clothing
Large drink bottle (2 litre capacity recommended)
Sun hat and beanie
Personal necessities (toiletries, sun cream, insect repellent, first aid equipment, etc.)
Camera and device chargers
Walking pole (especially useful in wet conditions)
Towel and sheets
Will I be sharing a room with others?
You will not be sharing a room with anyone outside of your booking group. Each of the three accommodation options are self-contained and exclusive to your group.
What level of fitness is recommended?
A moderate level of fitness is required. The track is not suitable for people with limited mobility or children under the age of 7.
When is your walking season?
Mt Guardian Walkway’s walking season is during October to April. The track is closed from May to September for winter maintenance.
What if one in our party doesn’t want to walk?
No problem! While the group enjoys their walks, you can unwind in the peaceful surroundings, read, or simply enjoy the tranquil atmosphere.
Can we bring our dog?
Unfortunately no. While we love dogs here at the farm, and use them heavily in the day to day workings of the land, the track is not suitable for other dogs.
